Rooted Gardens
Frequently asked questions
We are based in Norwich, VT and serve much of the Upper Valley for in-person services. We can offer virtual design consultations for those outside our range.
We are a full-service landscape care company- from pruning your apple trees in March to edging and mulching in May to weeding all summer long.
We do not maintain plants that are now on the VT/NH invasive species list and encourage their removal. Our passion is creating beautiful gardens that build habitat, sequester carbon, and promote biodiversity.
Our projects range in scope from a 10x20 ft pollinator garden to five year plans for lawn-to-habitat conversions. We are happy to collaborate with your existing land care team for any ecological landscaping projects you want to implement.
Yes, we agree that deer pressure has become a challenge to gardening in our region. We work hard to keep finding the plant palettes that deer don't find tasty! We also encourage all land owners who can to consider building a relationship with an ethical hunter to help restore an ecosystem balance which is essential for healthy forests as well as our gardens.
"ECOLOGICAL LANDSCAPING is a method of designing, building, and maintaining landscapes that considers the ecology of a site and creates gardens that enhance the surrounding environment for the benefit of humans and all other life in the ecosystem."
